Comic-Con International has announced that Returning Registration for San Diego Comic-Con 2018 will take place on Saturday, October 28 at 9:00am PT!
Returning Registration is open only to paid attendees of SDCC 2017. If you are eligible for SDCC 2018 Returning Registration, you should have received an email alerting you about it. You can also log into your Comic-Con Member ID account to verify your eligibility.
You will be able to log into the Waiting Room starting at 8:00am, though it doesn’t matter what time you arrive in the Waiting Room, as long as it’s before 9:00am, when the badge sale starts. At that time, you will be placed in a random order to buy badges.
You will need your personal registration code and a link in order to enter the Waiting Room, which will be emailed to you at least 48 hours prior to the badge sale. This will also be available in your CCI Member ID account at least 48 hours before the sale. If you make it into a registration session, you will be able to buy badges for up to three people, which includes yourself and up to 2 others. You’ll need to know the last name and Member ID of anyone you buy badges for. Note that you will only be able to buy for those who are also eligible for Returning Registration. You can only use one credit card for the transaction, for which you will have 15 minutes to complete.
New This Year:
- As previously announced on the Toucan Blog, there’s a new “Contact Info” tab in your Member ID account which allows you to list a home address and a badge shipping address. This will help out international attendees, since CCI won’t ship to an international address. Now, if international attendees have a U.S. address to which they can ship their badge, they can list that as their badge shipping address, so as to avoid having to go through Will Call to pick up their badges.
- The price of an Adult badge has increased $3 per day for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and $2 for Sunday, coming to a total of $276 to purchase a 4-Day badge with Preview Night, compared to last year’s total price of $265. Additionally, it looks like there will be a $5 “handling fee” tacked on, so the total price would actually be $281. See below for SDCC 2018 badge prices:

CCI also revealed some surprising information about Open Registration: it will occur sometime in late 2017! This is unusual, as it typically does not take place until the Spring. So if you have not yet registered for a Comic-Con Member ID, make sure to do so ASAP, because you need one in order to participate in Open Registration, and the cutoff date for having one will be unannounced and could occur at any time.
San Diego Comic-Con 2018 will take place July 18-22, 2018 at the San Diego Convention Center.
