Comic-Con International announced today that Open Registration for San Diego Comic-Con 2017 will take place on Saturday, April 8, 2017! Read on for more details.
If you have a Comic-Con Member ID, and are eligible for Open Registration, then you should have received an email confirming your eligibility and including instructions on how to participate in the sale. Note that all new Member IDs created after March 24, 2017 at 6:30pm PT will not be eligible to participate in SDCC 2017 Open Registration.
If you already obtained a badge for 4 Days plus Preview Night in Returning Registration, you are not eligible to participate in Open Registration. However, if you purchased 4 Days without Preview Night, or any combination of single day badges in Returning Registration, you are eligible to participate. Of course, those who were unable to obtain badges during Returning Registration are eligible to participate as well.
You will receive your personal registration code and the link to the Expo Logic Waiting Room via email at least 48 hours prior to the sale. This information will also be available in your Member ID account starting April 6, 2017. You may use your registration code to log into the waiting room starting at 8:00am PT, and you must log into it before 9:00am PT. At that point, everyone logged into the waiting room will be randomized, then slowly moved into groups for registration sessions, regardless of how early you logged into the waiting room.
Not everyone will be able to make it into a registration session before badges sell out. If you make it in, you may purchase badges for up to three total people, which means yourself and up to two others who have an eligible Member ID. If purchasing for others, you will need their last name and Member ID.

“Congratulations! You are eligible to participate in Comic-Con 2017 Open Registration! The badge sale will begin shortly after 9:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on Saturday, April 8, 2017. The Expo Logic waiting room will open at 8:00 AM PDT for registration code authorization.
At least 48 hours prior to Open Registration, you will be sent an email with your registration code and link to the Expo Logic waiting room. Please make sure you have not opted-out of email correspondence from Comic-Con. Your opt-out preferences can be found on the “My Account” tab in your Member ID account. We encourage you to add do-not-reply@comic-con.org and ccireg@expologic.com as an approved/authorized sender to your email account.
Your registration code and link to the Expo Logic waiting room will also be available on the “Registration Info” tab in your Member ID account starting April 6, 2017.

Remember, there are far more eligible attendees than badges available. Not everyone who enters the waiting room will be selected for a registration session. Admittance to the waiting room does not guarantee you a badge or registration session.
