Did you attend San Diego Comic-Con 2015? Are you interested in participating in Preregistration for SDCC 2016? Read on for some important information!
If you attended San Diego Comic-Con 2015, and want to participate in Preregistration for next year’s Comic-Con, you’ll need to validate your SDCC 2015 badge number before September 15, 2015. Hopefully you still have your SDCC 2015 badge close at hand, because you need the badge number that located at the bottom of that badge. Then log in to your Member ID account, select the “Registration Info” tab, and follow the instructions to enter your unique 10-character badge number when prompted.
If your child will be transitioning from a child badge to a junior badge this year (if your child is age 13 or older before August 1, 2015), there are special instructions for that, which you must also complete before September 15, 2015.
As you may or may not know, there are two opportunities to try to buy badges to each SDCC: 1) Preregistration, which is only open to those who attended the prior year’s SDCC as a paying attendee, and 2) Open Registration, which is open to anyone with a Comic-Con Member ID. So if you attended SDCC 2015 and want not one, but two chances at scoring a badge to SDCC 2016, make sure you validate your badge number before September 15, 2015! If you have never attended San Diego Comic-Con, make sure you sign up for a Member ID so that you will be eligible to participate in Open Registration!
Preregistration for San Diego Comic-Con 2016 is expected to take place sometime after October 31, 2015, and will be announced at a later date. For reference, Preregistration for SDCC 2015 took place on November 8, 2014. Open Registration will most likely take place sometime in Spring 2016.

2016 Child Badge Policy:
“Children age 12 and under are free with a paying adult! Children do not need to register for a Member ID to receive a badge. You may register a child (12 and under) onsite for free at the Attendee Badge Pick-Up Desk if a paying adult accompanies the child. You will be required to provide emergency contact information for any child registrant age 12 and under.
To accommodate the transition from child to junior (age 13-17), we have set a static date to determine who is considered a child for Comic-Con 2016. If you are age 12 or under before August 1, 2015, you do not need to buy a badge for Comic-Con 2016. You may attend as a child, with a paying adult. If you are age 13 or older before August 1, 2015, you must create a Comic-Con Member ID and purchase a badge for Comic-Con 2016.
