Important Information
If you’ve been to Comikaze in the past few years, you’ll know that the show has taken place in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center. However, this year, the show takes place in Hall K of the South Hall, and has expanded to include the West Hall, Concourse Hall, and Petree Hall. The Hot Topic Main Stage, autographs, and photo ops will be located in the South Hall, while vendors, Artist Alley, Stan Lee’s Mega Museum, and the Spooky World of Elvira will be located in the West Hall. If you’ve never been to Comikaze before, you should know that the Hot Topic Main Stage has very limited seating, and is mostly standing room only, so that anyone can walk up and watch whoever is on stage. Check out the Comikaze Survival Guide for other important information.
Friday, October 30
You can pick up your badge as early as 10am, though doors to the show don’t open until 1pm, and panels don’t start until 3pm. Friday is more of a half day at Comikaze. Only a small number of people will be available for autographs (click here for the autograph schedule), and it doesn’t look like any photo ops are available. Be aware that there’s usually a fee for autographs, so make sure to allot extra money for that. This would be a good day to walk the exhibit hall floor, as it most likely won’t be very crowded.
Here are some of Friday’s programming highlights:
3:30 pm, Hot Topic Main Stage – Stan Lee Welcome and Reflection
5:00 pm, Hot Topic Main Stage – Le Geek so Chic Fashion Show
5:00pm, Room 515B – Heroes Reborn: A Q&A on the Tie In Media: Q&A with Heroes Reborn writers Peter J. Wacks and Kevin J. Anderson
6:00pm, Room 511ABC – Supermansion: Creators, Writers, and Executive Producers Matt Senreich and Zeb Wells will discuss their brand-new stop-motion animated comedy
Click here for the full schedule of panels on Friday.
Saturday, October 31
This is definitely going to be the busiest day at Comikaze. Badge pickup starts at 7am, though the show doesn’t open until 9am. Saturday will have a full slate of talent available for not only autographs (click here for the autograph schedule), but photo ops as well (click here for the photo op schedule), including Carrie Fisher, Summer Glau, Casper Van Dien, Stan Lee, and more. Just a reminder that there is usually a fee for autographs and photo ops. You can pre-purchase autographs and photo ops for a few of the stars when you order your tickets online, but for most, you’ll have to purchase on site.
Kids 12 and under are invited to trick-or-treat at vendor booths in the West Hall 12-2pm.
At the end of the day, all 18+ Saturday and 3-Day badge holders are invited to Comikaze Expo’s Halloween Cosplay Ball, the FREE official Comikaze after-party taking place at Club Nokia, next door to the convention center, starting at 8:00pm.
