Important Information
If you went to Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo last year, you may remember that it took place in both the West Hall and part of the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center. However, this year, the show takes place in South Hall, as there are other events going on in West Hall, so if you’re driving in, keep that in mind when you park at the convention center.
Note that due to the Rock ‘N’ Roll Half Marathon taking place in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, October 30, there will be many road closures that morning, lasting from 6:00am to 11:30am. Click here for road closure information.
If possible, you may want to take the train in, as there is a train stop just a block away from the convention center. Check out the websites of Metro, Metrolink, and Amtrak for train schedules.
Will you be cosplaying? Make sure to read the Weapons Policy so that you know ahead of time what is and is not allowed.
If you’ve never been to this event before, you should know that the Hot Topic Main Stage has very limited seating, and is mostly standing room only, so that anyone can walk up and watch whoever is on stage. Check out the LA Comic Con Survival Guide for other important information.
Friday, October 28
You can pick up your badge as early as 9:00am, though attendees will not be allowed to line up until 2:00pm. Unlike past years, this year Friday is more of a “Preview Night,” in that there will be no panels that day, and attendees will only be able to shop on the Exhibit Hall Floor. Click here for the list of Exhibitors, and see below for the Exhibit Hall floor plan.
Also that night is the 21+ Club Comic Con after party at the Globe Theater, about a mile away from the convention center, with DJ Rufio (yes, the guy that played Rufio in Hook). General Admission tickets are $20.00, while VIP tickets are $30.00. Click here to buy tickets for Club Comic Con.
Saturday, October 29
This is definitely going to be the busiest day at Stan Lee’s LA Comic Con. Badge pickup starts at 7:00am, though the show doesn’t open until 9:00am. Saturday will have talent available for autographs (click here for the autograph schedule) and photo ops (click here for the photo op schedule), including Stan Lee himself, Cary Elwes, cast members from The Flash, and many more. Just a reminder that there is usually a fee for autographs and photo ops. You can pre-purchase autographs and photo ops for a few of the stars when you order your tickets online, but for most, you’ll have to purchase on site. Note that some stars are only available on Saturday, while others are only available on Sunday, so plan accordingly.
At the end of the day, all 18+ Saturday and 3-Day badge holders are invited to Stan Lee’s LA Comic Con Halloween Cosplay Ball, the FREE official after-party taking place at Club Novo (formerly Club Nokia), next door to the convention center. The Flux Capacitors will be rocking the hits of the 80’s and 90’s, with special guest performances by Farscape’s Gigi Edley, and some AMAZING special guests (last year DMC of Run DMC made an appearance on stage)!
