For the first time this year, Comic-Con International is going to mail San Diego Comic-Con badges to attendees (provided they have a U.S. address), rather than have attendees pick up their badges on site as has been the case in the past. Previously, CCI had announced that the SDCC 2016 badges would be shipped to the buyer of the badges – meaning that if someone else bought your badge for you, it would be sent to the shipping address they entered when purchasing the badge.
However, CCI sent out an email tonight that changes their SDCC 2016 badge shipping policy. The policy change applies to attendees who participated in both Preregistration and Open Online Registration whose badges were purchased for them by multiple buyers. Rather than send the badges to the multiple buyers, requiring the attendee to coordinate how to get their badges from the multiple buyers, CCI will now send the attendee’s badges directly to the attendee’s current address that is listed in their Comic-Con Member ID account.
Attendees must log into their Member ID account to update their shipping address before June 10, 2016.
You can read the email from Comic-Con International below:
“We’ve got good news! To make badge delivery more convenient for those who participated in both Attendee Preregistration and Open Online Registration, we will be shipping badges that were purchased for you by multiple buyers to your address directly! Your badges will not be sent to multiple buyers and you will not need to coordinate badge pick-up from multiple buyers.
ACTION REQUIRED:
To ensure you receive your badge(s) promptly, please log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account as soon as possible and review your current address. If changes are needed, click the “ADDRESS/PHONE” option from the My Account tab.**
You must change or update your address before June 10, 2016. We are unable to accept mailing address changes after this date. Your badges will be shipped to the address on file in your Member ID account as of June 10, 2016.
Again, we are changing the delivery process only for attendees who had multiple buyers. You will not need to coordinate with multiple buyers to pick-up your badges, they will be sent directly to the address on file in your Member ID account.
If you have any additional questions about your badge order, please email attendeereg@comic-con.org or visit www.comic-con.org/cci/badge-shipping
Sincerely,
Comic-Con
Attendee Registration
**Please ignore the May 9, 2016 deadline listed on the address change form. This date does not apply to your special multiple buyer situation.”
ComicCon organizers are slowly listening to the suggestions of their attendees.
