So, for some reason I thought the movies in the Winter Movie Draft didn’t start until last Saturday, but apparently they started the Saturday before that—Whoops! So far we have had five movies for the Winter Movie Draft release. The first week had Blair Witch, Snowden, and Bridget Jones’s Baby. Those movies all made surprisingly similar amounts of money so far, sitting between $15 million and $16 million. In the Movie Draft, Michelle had Blair Witch and Snowden, and Tamara had Bridget Jones’s Baby, and they also paid similar amounts for those movies—between $5 and $7 dollars. We will have to see how those movies do for value in the end.
The following week had The Magnificent Seven release, which was David’s movie, and Storks, which belonged to George. While Storks was considered to underperform at the box office, so far it has paid off a little better than Magnificent Seven given that David paid $24 for it, and George paid $11 for Storks. Time will tell whose investment made the most sense.
It is still pretty early in the Movie Draft to make any big predictions, but we are curious what readers think in terms of who will win! We have a poll set up here, where you are able to vote on who you think will win the draft, so make your predictions!
Also, if you are curious about what the Movie Draft is, and how we came about doing this you can read about the rules for the Summer Movie Draft here, which for the most part, is what the Winter Movie Draft followed.
Here is a look at the standings so far!
